Workshops

Collegiate Music Theory Preparation Course (2-weeks) 2 Sessions
The focus of this course is to prepare high school seniors for university-level music theory courses. Most universities have a music theory placement exam which can result in a student having to take remedial classes if not passed. Our course will prepare the students with the knowledge required to pass these exams and to possibly place into a higher-level course at the university level. The course will introduce and reinforce knowledge in intervals, chords, major and minor scales, time signatures, and roman numeral functional analysis. It is strongly recommended for seniors looking to pursue a music degree.
